Director of Education, Rachel Katzman, EdM
Rachel earned her BA in English and Art History at Skidmore College and the Universite de Paris X Nanterre. She attained her Ed.M at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, researching models of interdisciplinary education. Rachel has over a decade of experience teaching and advising students at many exceptional secondary schools, including: the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School, Phillips Andover Academy, the Oxbow School, and St. Johnsbury Academy. She has been both a mentor and an advocate for students pursuing their post-secondary plans and is compelled by the self-discovery and actualization they achieve through this process. 100% of the families that work with Rachel report being “Very Satisfied” with her work, and would “Definitely” recommend her to other interested families.

Director of Research & Lead Writing Tutor, Katie Zandbergen, PhD
Dr. Katie Zandbergen earned her BS at Skidmore College and her PhD in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford. While a graduate student in England, she also spent three years as the Junior Dean at Trinity College and worked as a tutor for undergraduates in the university’s prestigious Philosophy, Politics & Economics Department. After completing her studies, she moved to the Netherlands, where she worked at Amsterdam University College, teaching two undergraduate courses, as a member of AUC’s Admissions Team, and working as an academic adviser. She brings to Admitster over a decade of experience working in academia and is responsible for the content of Admitster’s online community and the success of the Writing Tutoring program. Katie enjoys working with students, helping them to meet their academic goals, and outside of Admitster can be found spending time with her family, kicking the soccer ball around, travelling, or with a book in her hand. Founder & Mathematics Tutor, Ron Rubin, PhD
Dr. Ron Rubin has been teaching mathematics and science his entire life, and continues to tutor and mentor at Admitster. He was on the faculty at MIT from 1998 – 2000, where he was researching quantum mechanics and quantum computation. While at MIT, he taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in mathematics. He earned his PhD from Harvard where he was a National Science Foundation Fellow. In addition, he was awarded two White Prizes for Excellence in Teaching Physics at Harvard, a Kusaka Prize for Undergraduate Physics Research at Princeton, where he earned his undergraduate with highest honors. He has tutored, co-taught, and taught courses in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Introductory Physics, Statistical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, and Quantum Field Theory. Ron is also the co-founder of Rubin/Anders Scientific, Inc., a Boston-based scientific talent agency representing scientific thought leaders including Nobel laureates and technology revolutionaries. Geometry, Algebra and Algebra II Tutor, Joseph Houchins
Joe has tutored Algebra, Algebra II and Geometry (Texas state test curriculum) in Austin, Texas, where he coordinated a tutoring program at the high school level. He has also been an Instructor in the Summer Challenge Program at Boston University and a Teaching Fellow for undergraduates. He was was the Lead Teacher for the East Austin College Prep Summer Program, and he has also been Head Soccer Coach at Austin Can! Academy. Joe has an MA from Boston University and a BA from Trinity University in Texas.

Anjali, a lawyer by trade, has always had a passion for shaping words into stories. With over 10 years of experience mentoring students on their college admissions journeys, including perfecting their application essays, she is committed to helping students find their unique voice. Prior to working with Admitster, she successfully led a 25-person college admissions consultant team for three years as the Consulting Operations Manager for the Bay Area’s largest educational consulting firm. Her experience there included assisting dozens of students gain entrance into the Ivies and other top institutions through helping them identifying the strongest direction for their overall application based on their varied life experiences. Anjali attended U.C. Berkeley, NYU, and Miami University and holds degrees in doctorate and masters level degrees in law and public policy.
